I like driving in my (instrustors) car!

I have decided to learn to drive to help give me a bit more Independence and to tick off one of the things on my list of things to do before I'm 30.
I love it!! I have a few issues with the reactions of my feet but my instructor is brilliant and is so supportive of me! I'm finally getting used to driving and learning about reactions and what I should be looking out for so will keep everyone posted on how it is going!

Got a tricky weekend ahead, seeing my nan and my sisters have said it's really draining so am going to have a nap and get ready xx

  1. Get yourself a Motability car with hand controls, I did as didn't trust my feet, If you're having a good day use your feet, if not the hand controls, Simple!

  2. Can you get cars that can change from hand to feet? That would be so usefull! I want to pass my test with feet so I always have that xx

  3. not sure but constantly amazed by what they can do. Definately worth finding out. Either way, for the mobility part of your dla it's excellent value to get a new car every 3 years, all insurance for 2 people and all services/maintenance/rac cover. I drive a mazda 3. (it has a good sterio, I know nothing about cars but I do know music). Certainly a weight off my mind! To think I refused to apply for dla for so many years! Don't panic I'm not some sort of crazy 'up all night kinda gal' just having steroid induced insomnia. Got one he'll of a busy day at work tomorrow too, doh!

  4. Okay, this is a long shot but... If you aren't busy on 7th august do you fancy doing a skydive (tandem) to raise money/awareness for ms? It's in salisbury and you would need a doctors note by early next week. Every one doing it needs to raise some sponsorship. Since I've just discovered your blog you may think this a little over familiar but the insomnia strikes again and was asked to find people only this evening. I don't think I'll be able to get the note as mid relapse but will be trying tomorrow.

  5. Hi Hun,
don't worry, I know the steroid lack of sleep! I always feel like i've drunk about 40 exspresso in a short time period!
The sky dive sounds brilliant, but I'm doing first festival since MS that weekend! Gutted cause i've always to try a sky dive! Salisbury would be brilliant too, I grew up outside of Bath and used to go there a lot.

Thanks for the car info, really helpful. I know nothing about cars but know music too! I'm the one out of me and my husband that talks about wattage of speakers and bass boosters!
Can you plug your i pod in directly? xxx

  6. I have a lead that fits into the arm rest so it keeps it contained and out the way. Will be getting a new car in about 6 months so will be looking for another good sterio and thinking colours shortly. Thinking about Citroen C4 or Alpha perhaps. Motorbility really is the way forward, I can't stress that enough.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Take care xxx
